Pitlochry has long been the central tourist hub of Highland Perthshire. In the mid-1800s, Queen Victoria visited the small town, and since then it has been a popular tourist destination. Pitlochry offers wonderful sights and activities for people from all walks of life. Not only is it a great place in itself, but from Pitlochry it is easy to catch transport to Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Newholme is situated in a peaceful spot, close to the town's main street, Atholl Road. This lovely modern self-catering bungalow with front and back gardens, is the ideal place for those looking to escape the din of city life, yet be close to all the appealing activities and places for which Highland Perthshire is renowned.
Newholme sleeps from two to four or five people in its double or twin bedrooms. This is great for a family getaway, or simply a romantic week away to explore the myriad pleasures of Pitlochry. Only a minute's walk from the town centre, you'll have swift access to good local restaurants and pubs, which are in plentiful supply.
From the town centre, you'll have your pick of walks, each of them clearly marked. Whether you just want a stroll down the River Tummel, or prefer to walk the hills and gaze down on the town, there are walks for the experienced hiker and gentle ambler alike.
Pitlochry's most famous attraction is the Dam and Fish Ladder, which allows the salmon to swim upstream from the River Tummel to Faskally Dam. You can view this phenomenon, as well as learn more at the visitors centre.
If you're looking for accommodation for a busy period, perhaps during Pitlochry's Highland games, the Etape Caledonia Cycle Challenge, or a season of entertainment at the renowned Pitlochry Festival Theatre, it's best to book your accommodation in advance to avoid disappointment. After all, every year tens of thousands of visitors make their way to this wonderful part of Scotland.
Newholme is very accessible with rooms all on one level, allowing for easy access for guests with mobility problems. Well behaved pets are welcome at no extra charge, and off road parking as available for up to 3 cars.
Prices for Newholme range from £350 to £575 per week and gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included in the price.
